I actually lost back end pressure on the cans, and mileage took a hit.
Highly unlikely, try again.

I plan on ordering from a US vendor so I won't have to deal with the company directly via Taiwan. The vendor is also running a sale 'til the end of this month on NASIOC.

good to hear! i wonder how much that'll move back even if i dont spend the extra few hundred on the STS...

Wow why haven't see this thread. I have had my Kinugawa 20gTD06 8cm for little over a year. I would recommend this turbo with no doubt. It is very simple installation except the inlet(because of Subaru). I hit about 23 psi at 3400 rpms. I love how it throws me back in my seat. Hopefully it will last a little bit. Worried though bc it might have seized but nothing to do with turbo. I'll keep you guys updated.
Do you, by any chance, have any dyno charts or Power/Torque plots?

subscribed! I'm nearing 100k and ready for my *preventative maintenance*

No... the LGT has an OPEN front diff... a VISCOUS center diff... and a LIMITED SLIP rear diff.
FYI: Viscous [coupling] is a type of limited slip differential. As are helical gear, clutch type, and electromagnetic. The STI has a gear type (Torsen) rear diff, ours is viscous coupling.

small update:
I have been running this thing in my car this week, I think were almost there. The graphics overlay came and is looking pretty darn good. I wish I had pics. I think I will be able to post some later this week if not tomorrow.
There is a small list of improvements to make to the software, before I let the few beta testers tear into this. If all goes well I think I can get the beta units out in early may.
I also have tentative pricing. Looks like this is going to run about $250.
I might be ordering some blue OLED screens so people can have a choice between white and blue. Honestly the white matches the dash nicely. You guys have to see the night shot of this thing...
NICE! good to hear that it's going so well. Can't wait to see the final product.
My previous offer to help still stands, I'd be glad to drive up from C'ville one of these weekends and help you out with a beta test/test install.

WOW. from your videos, that looks to be some SPECTACULAR update speeds for the LEDs. Definitely no issue with digital "rate of change" information loss. I'm definitely interested in this.. I'm a short drive south of you in Charlottesville so if you need testing in another 06LGT 5MT. Lemmie know, I'm electronicallyand mechanically inclined and I'd be glad to take a trip up there and test this for/with you.

hey just to chime in, i just found this thread and i'm an 06 owner up here in the north east that also experiences an annoying growling noise when i accelerate hard, especially in 1st gear under heavy throttle. in 2nd gear i can actually control when the growling starts by throttle position. all this is very prevalent in the cold that we get.
very interested in this thread as it *seems* like i am getting less power to the ground with the growling, but not sure, i almost always react by reducing power
-
i'm getting this growling noise too (more and more so as the gas prices go down ), do you guys notice loss off power when it happens? i was taking a hard right hander on to an empty onramp and i got that growl when i laid it out during the turn in second gear. As i let off the gas, the growling went away as expected and the car seemed to "grip" better and shoot off. perhaps i was experiancing a combination of wheelspin and growling? thats my first experiance with growling and hard turns... is something slipping internally? or was i just loosing traction?

this mod only works on subaru boxer engines due to the exhaust manifold layout and the firing order of the cylinders? (not 100% on that last part). if you do it on the is350, you'll just end up with a ricey exhaust leak, not the boxer rumble

hey. i need help, i just changed my engine, radiator and thermostat, i dont know whats haeppening because my car is heating up, i went to the mechanic and they dont know, all the water from the radiator is going to the plastic tank and when that happen it starts to heating up
99% sure its a headgasket, had the same thing happen to a used 98 wagon we just got

hrmmm interesting...
stuff that the dealer put in after replacing the synchro on 5th really sucks on the 1-2 shift, this stuff good during the first few cold shifts too?

holy thread revival!
no, if you are talking about the version 1 accessports (big ones with monochromatic screens) they are transmission and year specific. 05 AP v1 will not work with any 06 LGTs. All the other physical pipes should work fine though
-
Well then I guess I cant do it on my BE since it is NA?
well its not that you CANT do it, it probably just wont sound the same. i think its been discussed here before, possibly something to do with different compression ratios or something or something. if you want to try it, go ahead and try it, best part about this 'mod' is that you can take it off if you dont like it like some of the NA legacies.

the turbo provides enough backpressure

wow, good stuff. STICKY

uhh... i wouldnt...
...but onwards towards 10,000!

+1more towards 1000
and for the dealer going "what the heck is this?" as they unbolt my muffler to fix my left suspension

friend of mine riding in the backseat:
"HOLY COW how big's the engine in this car? it sounds like a HUGE MONSTER"
"2.5Liters .... 4cylinder"
"what the heck?! that sounds MEAN"
washers:
[1,1] [1,2]
thank you hogmeat.

yea they do, thats how i drained the battery on the car the first day i got it...at the dealer's lot.
went home and disabled the DRL an hour later. i might try to see if i can get the foglights to act as DRLs now just for safety's sake
Growling/Clunking noise in rear while accelerating hard in 1st or 2nd ??

^ Back from the dead!
Also an update from me, my growling went away after I replaced my clutch and had to remove the driveshaft to drop the transmission. Perhaps I relieved some kind of factory slack, alignment, or bolt torqueing issue?
I *think* I tightened up everything back the same, but I did not use a torque wrench. (Yes, I've checked the bolts repeatedly since) No growling for 2 winters now.
