Thanks for your tip. I will request an inspection. However, the last owner of the car stated that he changed the radiator.

  2. Guys, I have a 2008 aspirated Legacy 3.0. My car is getting hot easily. Any climb greater than 2 miles, going up to 60 mph, the car reaches 212°F, and then I have to take my foot off, it quickly returns to 203°F, if I accelerate hard it reaches 215°F which is when the needle passes the middle and begins to boil. At high speeds for a few minutes the car also reaches these temperatures. Considerations, I live in a tropical country and in a very hot state. Outdoor temperature 90 - 100°F. Maintenance already carried out: I changed all the fluid in the cooling system and cleaned the system, I changed all the radiator hoses, the car does not leak any fluid, I changed the two thermostatic valves. In heavy traffic, my car doesn't heat up, only when driving at high speed or climbing mountains. I would like to know if anyone has experienced something similar and can help me, I don't know if there is an update for the system.

  4. Hey guys, I have a Legacy 2008, and a situation happens that when the air conditioning is off, hot steam comes out of the air vents. I know it's because of the heat from the big engine, but I'd like to know if it's the same as everyone else. Detail, even with the air recirculation closed, the steam continues to come out of the ventilation.

so, mine came from japan, it's the Legacy model year 2008 with 3.0 H6 engine, however in the document it's not written 3.0 R , it's 3.0 GX, and I can't find anything of that version.

I'm in Brazil, but I don't know where this import unit came from. How do I look at the numbering? In this post you sent, you are talking about the outback, but my car is the Legacy, I want to know if it has this self-levelling suspension.

Thanks. I'm going to contact him, but I was sent the following alternative: "When the purge solenoid starts to go bad, it clicks really loudly. The computer doesn't trigger the purge solenoid all the time, it just triggers it at the times it wants to maintain atmospheric pressure in the fuel tank. When you turn on the AC compressor, the fuel load increases which changes the pressure in the tank and the computer turns on the solenoid valve to pull the vacuum in the tank and when the pressure drops to the atmosphere, it turns off the solenoid, that's why the clicking noise is there, goes away and then comes back.

The only thing in the area you're pointing to in the video is that purge solenoid."

however I still haven't been able to see this solenoid, because I'm not finding it in the engine.

I can't say about the valve clearance, because the noise only happens when you turn on the air conditioning compressor, leaving the engine heavier.

thanks for the answer, do you have any video or photo showing this piece? Because I don't know

thank you, I believe that is the same problem, I will change this part, in another forum they sent me the link of 2 parts that could be exchanged, I will send you the link and you confirm if they are the same ones you imagine,

  11. Hello my friend, yes I'm from Brazil, here there are Legacy and Outback subarus with 6 cylinder engines from the 2007 to 2009 generation. About the noise, I've already looked at everything, but unfortunately I don't find the problem, now I just need to dismantle the intake manifold to see if you can find any cracks at the bottom of it or something underneath.

  12. My Subaru is a 2008 Legacy with an EZ30 engine, and it's making a noise I can't figure out why. The noise is on the left side (looking at the engine from the front), on the side where the air filter is located. The noise occurs below the intake manifold, and it appears when the air conditioning compressor activates, however the noise is on the opposite side where the compressor is. I have already changed the belt of accessories, pulleys and others, but nothing solved this noise. Another detail is that sometimes even with the air compressor activated the noise does not appear. In person it sounds a lot like a compression sound being lost. I recorded a video and posted it on YouTube, link below:
