I recently purchased a 2011 Subaru Legacy 3.6 and I noticed that I had light smoke exiting from the bonnet after a long drive on the highway. The next day, I noticed the same, but this time during my commute to work when idling at a traffic light.
Upon inspection of the engine bay, I noticed that the coolant reservoir was around the LOW level, and looking inside the reservoir there seemed to be a brown sludge-like liquid (no brightly coloured solution was able to be visible, see image).
Does anyone have any ideas on what may have happened?

Hello all,
