Hi, new to Subarus but not bending wrenches. Daughter has a nice 06 Legacy (limited GT, auto, N/A, 148k) and it started overheating and missing. Pulled the engine and have pulled the heads off. Looks like the passenger side had a blown head gasket. Planning on taking the heads to be pressure tested, inspected and machined. What else should I do while to engine is pulled? I need to order the following parts but what brands are preferred or should I avoid? Recommendations on venders or sites? -head gaskets -gasket kits -CV half shafts -timing belt, water pump, thermostat -transmission fluid and filter -diff fluid -exhaust from y pipe back Not looking to make it a hot rod, just a dependable vehicle. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
