My 2021 Legacy radio sound just stopped working...it started with a high pitch squeal type of sound followed by no audio on AM, FM, Sirius etc...display and all other functions still work. Thoughts?

Hi all. My 2021 Legacy does not have a cd player. I have tried to use my LG external cd player by using the USB connection but for whatever reason it is not recognized. Am I missing something? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance....
