  1. I appreciate thst, but I actually did find it for sale, and after confirming I didn't have the green/white in pin 3, I ordered the sensor and the kit. If it's a common enough issue, I'm hoping the sensor is the culprit. I also read somewhere that they have the keyless receiver above the glove box. I need to pull the box and confirm, but hopefully that's where it's at. Thanks all the same, and I'll update the thread with results in case it helps someone else.
  2. Thank you for that. I saw that elsewhere, but couldn't find that kit for sale. I also want to pull up that part of the dash and see if they added the module already (got the car used). Thanks again and if you have any info on the keyless entry, it'd be appreciated.
  3. Hi everyone, I posted here a while back regarding electrical issues I had, and while I got most of them resolved, keyless entry and the auto headlights are still problematic. For keyless, I tested and found out my fob wasn't transmitting, so I got a replacement and programmed it via the lock/unlock method (got the locks to cycle after the second entry). I also confirmed that the new fob is sending signals, but the car won't respond after programing. Since the car took the programming as expected, I don't think it's the biu, but maybe the receiver instead. I have read that it's by the steering column, but anyone know where? Also, would I need to do any specific programming for that as well, or does the receiver just relay the message to the biu to handle? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I did pull that one and put it back in during one of battery disconnects earlier, but it looked OK. However, I'm thinking I might just replace it anyway in case it's one of those blown ones thst doesnt look it. Thank you for the suggestion.
  5. I'll be honest, it was primarily just the eye read for the fuses, although I did check some in both boxes. I tried doing an ecu reset to see if that would do anything, but I'm also finding that disconnecting the battery won't trigger it (trip odo and clock aren't resetting). My plan was to just swap all the fuses that might be involved, but I could test voltage if I can find my multimeter. I was also going to bypass my battery to wipe out all voltage in my system to see if that triggers the ecm and biu reset. Still, I'll see if I can find the multimeter and test out those fuses. There's just a lot of potential ones, and with three separate things being out, I thought it would be weird to have those specific things all affected. Thank you for the reply!
  6. Hi everyone, 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium with Manual transmission here This is my third legacy, and I haven't had electrical issues before, but I recently had my battery die on me, and when I jumped it using the boost function of my micro start, the alarm would go off. Did it once more when I tried to jump it again, but the third time it did not. Got the car running, but then certain electric functions weren't working. Aftermarket stereo will not turn on, keyless entry and the security system dont work, and my auto headlight sensor doesn't seem to work. Most other functions (windows, mirrors, headlights themselves) all work. I chalked it up to the battery being shot, but when I replaced it this afternoon, they still don't work. I've checked every fuse I could think of, but none seem to be blown. I think it might be the biu, but with what I've heard of the key issue, I'd like to avoid dropping that money if I can avoid it. Anyone have any idea what this could be or have some next troubleshooting steps? Thank you for any help you can provide.
  7. Thanks again for your help here, but still having issues so I'm gonna post this in the technical thread. Mods can feel free to delete this thread.
  8. Good afternoon everyone, 2011 Subaru Legacy Premium edition with Manual transmission. I'm usually pretty good with figuring out my Legacy (I'm on my third), but I'm stumped here. I left a light on in my car or something and my battery was dead this afternoon. I initially changed the battery in my fob, thinking that was it, but when I realized it was the car's battery, I used my Micro-Start XP-10 to jump it and then drove it to charge the battery. So with that out of the way, the car turns over, the windows, turn signals, wipers, interior lights, etc. all work, but my keyless entry still does not and my aftermarket px5 stereo wont turn on either (alarm light also isnt flashing. I did hear some brief cracks from the speakers while driving it, and I feel like I blew a fuse, but I cant seem to figure out which ones to check. I checked fuse 24 on the interior panel (Audio, Navigation system) and 22 in the engine box (Door lock (body control unit)), but they looked fine, and I dont see any explicit fuse for the alarm or keyless entry. Anyone have any information or place they could point me to figure out what this could be? I tried searching around, but "keyless entry battery" just returns videos on replacing the fob battery, which ive already done. Thanks in advance.
