  1. Short answer yes, straightforward as long as you're keeping the H/K amp and just installing a new head unit. The 08/09 uses the same old 14 pin connector as previous years. Long answer, looks more complicated if not
  2. The JDM displays are all more dim from my own experience and everything I've seen online Dumb question but have you tried messing with the dimmer button with the headlights on? EDIT: Just realized yours is a 2007 so that layout is going to be different, but there should a button there somewhere
  3. I found this flat black duplicolor at autozone to be not perfect, but pretty close to the JDM black. More necessary in mine as the black, silver and wood trim was an eyesore
  4. The info I can find on the GX-201SE version of that radio is that it's "GX-201SE for LHD non-Europe (incl. US)" https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1009213&page=9
  5. No, that's a single zone. You have the correct one. Can't help but wonder if you still need the i88 adapter, this is the way it's described on one of the sites selling them "This adapter is used in combination with the JDM AV Panel to retain HVAC control when installing an aftermarket Double DIN headunit in a Subaru Legacy or Outback. The JDM panel requires the following additional signals that are not connected in the OEM harness: Illumination (-) Illumination (+) +12V Switched https://www.autoharnesshouse.com/AHH-JDM.html
  6. What information are you after? It's been awhile since I did mine but you need an i88 adapter https://tightfitfab.com/2005-2009-subaru-legacy-gt-outback-jdm-double-din-dual-zone-climate-control-i88-adapter/ possibly an i85 adapter https://tightfitfab.com/2005-2009-subaru-legacy-gt-outback-i85-adapter/ you'll need to trim plastic in order to reroute the hazard switch location
  7. https://tightfitfab.com/ has the harnesses you need
  8. Koolaid still makes them, this is his site, https://tightfitfab.com/2005-2009-subaru-legacy-gt-outback-i85-adapter/
  9. I needed the added negative illumination wire from the stereo adapter from tightfitfabrication in order for the HVAC illumination and dimmer to function
  10. One last thanks to raul and tightfibfabrication for making this project possible, need to do some adjusting on the trim but the lion's share of the work is done https://imgur.com/a/Q3AGtHT Second photo is the from the official thread and I found it very handy in figuring out how much plastic to trim to reroute the hazard switch. Also was easier to steal the switch from my old radio and use that to keep checking fitment if you've already connected everything else. https://imgur.com/a/eGaDGmw
  11. FWIW, I preordered my JDM dual zone panel on the 14th of october and it shipped out this morning edit:AVOJDM has them listed in stock now instead of preorder, they also dropped the price $10 https://avojdm.com/dual-zone-av-panel-set-h6217ag911/
  12. Anyone doing this project in the future would probably find it very useful versus digging through old forum posts imo Not that the old info isn't useful, but having everything you need in one place sure would have been nice
  13. It's very doable thanks to raul and tightfitfab.com! Here's my wiring check today after Raul was kind enough to answer some noob questions I had yesterday. https://imgur.com/a/e53IqA9
  14. Did a total 180 on that PM I sent you koolaid and ordered the adapters yesterday, thanks for shipping them so fast! Now to wait for the JDM panel
