Gents,
I have decided to part out my car and here is what i have left.
Anything that fits in a Small or Medium USPS box I will cover shipping. Buyer pays paypal fees for all transactions. Venmo sales fees are cheaper so that route works as well. Keep in mind that shipping rates have gone up, i will shop around for the best rate as possible.
Don't be afraid to make offers. I will be traveling between Tampa and NY on 8/18 so if anyone needs a large item along the i95 corridor we can meet up.

It wasn't today but the last 6 weeks or so..
Original motor decided to break the timing belt tensioner at 198,650 miles. I was already building a motor for it so timing aligned pretty perfectly (no pun intended).
My car was already FBO , flex fuel, protuned for the last 40k miles so this build consisted of a new built block ,rebuilt OEM heads, STI Exhaust Cams, upgraded manifold, 20g turbo , upgraded clutch.
Swap was done over a weekend, car built oil pressure fairly quick using the IAG Stage 1 Oil pump. Only issue I had was with a OCV that was sticking, removed, cleaned and reinstalled go to go.
While breaking in the motor I had decided to beef up the fuel system since I only had 1050x injectors a AEM 340 fuel pump. I wanted to go ID1700, Custom -6 lines, Aeromotive A1000 FPR and Torque solutions Fuel rails. Unfortunate around this time we all got the news about Cobb ending Flex Fuel Support and ability to remove DTC monitors.
My tuner was able to fit me on on some remote tune time so once the motor was fully broken in we did a few sessions and I am very happy with how the car drives and pulls. 20g is noticeably laggier compared to the 18g I had in there but i'll get used to it. Not sure how much power it puts down since all pulls were made on the street but i will get it over to a dyno soon to see the results. As for now I'm very satisfied, future changes might include upgraded fuel system and ECUtek tune since the still support flex fuel (for now at least)
Not sure if I will keep the car for long, might be time to switch up platforms soon.

After viewing those images I am even more confused! Where is the return line for the transmission cooler? It looks like two different fittings are present on the cylinder 4 side, and both of them seem to lead to the heater core, with one of them teeing to continue on to transmission cooler. That seems to support that that the two fittings on the cylinder 4 side are both the supply and return?!
I'm assuming that behind cly 3 there is another fitting for return. probably a small L shaped hose gong from cooler to cylinder head.

long way to travel from the left side of the engine to the right side for a rubber hose..... the hoses that were on the motor I got definitely went to the heater core, no other routing. and it's not a mod if it's oem. I wish I could find the pictures I took of it as delivered but I can not find them.
Motor below shows the routing exactly like what i saw at the local engine importer.

I see people keep on mentioning the "JDM OEM Coolant mod fitting" in this thread. I looked at a JDM motor at a engine retailer that had a Auto tranny mated to it, that fitting was feeding a tranny cooler that is attached on the right side of the motor. Same line then T's off to the heater core. Is it a 4th cyl cooling mod, or just a coolant line that goes to JDM spec'd Auto tranny vehicles... just my .02 cents on this discussion.

Has anyone had recent experience with BNR upgrading their VF54? I am ready for the 18G upgrade but have not gotten a response from them via email or phone... Makes me a bit nervous about the whole process versus spending the extra money for the Tomioka 20G. I just don't want the 20G based on dyno results with stock exhaust fans.
Contact Adrien @ Hill Country Forced Induction, he emails back quickly.
I will be sending my turbo to him for a 18g build soon.

Updated 4/20
Added the custom bumper back onto the car a few weeks ago with a new lip from IKON. Wanted to add some depth to the front instead of the V-Limited baby lip.
For the rear, I am working on fiberglassing the S-Craft Rear Half lip so it fits the USDM bumpers. The USDM fenders are wider, thus causing a gap between the lip and the bumper.
Man I'd pay a premium for a front bumper like that....
Love the build man

I used the 2015 wrx piping it took some work but we finally got it to fit. i had to use the hks filter to get everything to fit and it was a pain in the ass to be honest. i'm thinking about trying something different and leaving the filter in the fender instead of bring it up into the engine bay but i have not had time to try and fool with it.
Gotcha Thanks for the info, I've been debating if going that route. I've seen AVO sells a pipe that goes from the Turbo inlet pipe to the MAF holder pipe.
I just got my car tuned on Friday and made 301whp/320wtq on pump 93 and 340whp / 359wtq on E60 (Gas Station only had like 5 gallons of E left.
Mods:
FMIC
GFB 50/50 BOV
Cobb 1050x Injectors
COBB Flex Fuel
AEM 340 Pump
Cobb Air Box
Invidia Catless DP
Invidia N1 Exhaust
Power was left down due to the engine having 188k miles:eek:.
Starting to buy parts now for a engine build and BNR 18G upgrade. End goal would be 400whp/400wtq.

Looking good!!
Quick Question: Which Mishimoto Intake Piping did you use. I was looking at the 2015+ WRX piping which look like it might fit.
I already have a COBB Intake box, MAF & Box from a 2008+WRX installed.

The power roadblocks sticky thread mentions it. The non cobb solution is not a kit and it's open source. You will have to do a lot of research and work.
I wound up ordering the Cobb FF kit. Thanks for the info.
-
Not sure what your talking about.
But it basically is the same as a Cobb kit, plug and play, Cobb AP reads the ethanol sensor and fuel pressure just like the Cobb would.
Heck, my protuner even said it acts just the same as a Cobb flex fuel.
Car made over 380hp/410tq on E85 with the option to use pump 93 whenever I want.
I should say the kit was well worth every penny spent vs Cobb.

Reviving old thread, any info on that non Cobb Flex Fuel kit?

PM's replied, sorry I had some emergency to deal with.
Hopefully I have dibs since I started this thread. Lmao

Nearly a copy cat of Timothy.B...
Looking good. What front lip are you using? I cant seem to find anything for a 2010-2012 Bumpers.

Did you swap out your passenger side radiator fan to make it fit? I've heard that fitment is doable but some mention some trimming or swapping of the fan.
Heard the Bolts have to be trimmed flush as they protrude and press against the charge pipe.
On another note, if you find any AVO Charge pipe for sale let me know. There was one on ebay and it's now out of stock.
-
I have the charge pipe... never even installed it. PM if youre interested.
DeltaSniper, let me know if you still have this..

I ordered:
IAG IAG-ENG-7151RD
IAG Performance Street Series (AOS) Air/Oil Separator | Subaru
Impreza WRX /STI (IAG-ENG-71) - 2008-14 WRX - 2008-14 STI -
2015-16 STI / Red
Thanks for the reply.
Looks like that model is discontinued and superseded by IAG-ENG-7181RD
-
I'll see if I can grab a pic showing how much room is behind the AOS but, yeah, it is mounted to the strut tower.
Old thread but hoping you can reply.
What model specific version did you end up using? I remember reading early in the post about getting a 4th Gen LGT but someone suggested getting a 15’+ version.
Thanks in advance.
