So I successfully reprogrammed the key to see if that was the issue but it still didn't start the car (opening door, switching from LOCK to ON 10 times and inputting the 8 digit key code twice). Sometimes when I insert that same key, the engine will begin to turn but will not turn all the way. Most of the time nothing will happen when I turn the key with the exception of lighting up the dash indicator lights. Subaru recently replaced my ECM and I suppose this is the cause of the second set of keys not working. How technical is it to program the keys to the new ECM? This is a 2012 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Thank you in advance.

This has been resolved. The simplest, quickest fix for this issue of the stereo not functioning at all was to remove the DVD plastic tab, insert a hairpin or paperclip in to the hole above CD where the Reset button is, hold for a moment and the entire system will reset, bringing back to life the entire audio system. I give credit to the Subaruoutback.org forum.

2012 Legacy Fuel Door removal?
2012 Legacy H6 replied to 2012 Legacy H6's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
Are you sure? Mine are scraping like it's metal when I try to pry them open. How do you remove them? -
Someone keyed my car, scratching my fuel door in the process. Therefore I am trying to remove the fuel door on my Legacy. There are two metal tab-like pieces that hold it in place with a hole in the middle, however I don't see anything with the clear purpose of removing them. Why does this have to be so difficult? Other cars have regular 10mm bolts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure the CAI was a good idea. Definitely lost low end hp. Rpms seem to get stuck sometimes when I'm spirited in my driving. 0-60 in hot weather is so sluggish. As far as the Nameless ABE, I love the sound. Not too loud and has a sweet hum when in a tunnel. Drivers side muffler is a little off center so need to get on fixing that. After finding out the Mustang fogs are a direct fit, I was quick to change out those ugly stock fogs. Next I have to change my front bumper cover as it has damage to it. I've been looking for a F3T cover in good shape but haven't had any luck. All junkyards have everything else in F3T except my bumper cover! I also put on Stop Tech rotors and CarboTech 1521 pads all around. Great performance! Lastly, I changed my driver's side front door due to the fact that at highway speeds, you could hear the sound of air penetrating the inside of the car. Most likely the previous owner had to slimmy the car to get it unlocked, which bent the outer plastic hence the air noise. Spent $300 for a junkyard door in excellent shape. Very few scratches and the same color at that. Funny story - the junkyard was a police impound and while I drove my car inside to have them put the door in the backseat, some crazy woman was awaiting her escape in her vehicle. She sped out once she saw the first opportunity. -
Tachometer fluctuates after startup

I second the possibility of a leak given the behavior of the rpm gauge. Whether it's a leak in an air line or exhaust. -
Changing brake hardware mandatory?
2012 Legacy H6 replied to 2012 Legacy H6's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
Yeah the expensive pads I bought didn't come with a kit. Any idea what the part number is - if any - for the 3.6R 2012? -
Hello there. I am looking for the following: Front bumper cover w/ fogs Hood w/scoop, Trunk lid w/spoiler Metallic Gray F3T color code Will pick up or pay shipping depending on distance. Also looking for anything cool you may be getting rid of that'd fit my Leggy. Specifically a brake kit. Thanks in advance!

Hello I have a '12 Legacy 3.6R and am looking to swap the trunk lid for one with the spoiler and brake light. I am also looking to swap the hood for one with a hood scoop because it looks cooler. For the trunk lid, how would I go about wiring the new spoiler brake light? I am also in need of a front bumper cover F3T. Mine is damaged. Thanks

The i8 style LED u-bar headlights look amazing (they're so bright compared to stock that the pics don't do them justice) however the Mustang fogs appear to be a little wider than OEM therefore I dont believe the full stream of light penetrates the housing due to the stock Lamp Covers. Anyone have any insight on this? Unable to upload any other photos -
Anyone have any idea what this black box is with the 30amp green fuses attached to each side of the wiring harness? Theres another black box on the other side of the harness (can only see the 2nd green amp in pic). The electrical tape looks newer. There are also two thick white wires connecting this box and are spliced into the harness. Had the car for 4 months now. So far I've been unable to find a tracker. Thanks in advance.

Might sound dumb but how the heck do you change the bulb in the Mustang Fogs? -

Does this require a high temp wire harness given that its a different bulb? Or do LEDs not burn hot?
