I'm now interested in putting a new catless downpipe on it. I'm not sure how this will go, but if anyone has any experience with doing this, I'd love to know. cheers

hello everyone, just an update on my car, it now has a rumble. I'm really pleased with it. I cut away the exhaust at the split where it goes out to 2 exhausts, and replaced the pipes with 2 1/4 inch pipe, I have added 1 resonator to each side and it now sounds beautiful. thanks to everyone's replies. but I think making the stock exhaust pipe larger is probably the way to go in order to get the loud frequency rumble

thanks heaps to everyone for their positive replies, im just wondering, has anyone done any exhaust change to their legacy gt that makes it sound similar to a wrx?. im planning to take mine to get a downpipe 2.5inch and at the split, more 2.5 inch pipe into a hiflow muffler on each exhaust.

Hello everyone, i have a 2006 subaru legacy gt 2.0l. i am looking to make it sound like a wrx, wrx sti. my friend has a ej25 turboed subaru outback as has gotten the mufflers removed at the back. his car now sounds identical to a wrx and im looking to do the same. i just got the same procedure done to mine and now it sounds like a honda civic on crack haha. im still looking to get that iconic subaru rumble that the wrx, and wrx stis make. im thinking about getting a new exhaust system made for my car, turboback, 2.5 inch with 1 resonator and 1 muffler, or 2 mufflers at the back behind my exhaust tips. im not trying to make my car too loud, as it can become illegal from where i live.
if anyone has any positive ideas or suggestions. it would be much appreciated. no negative comments please.

Hi all,
I'm new here. I have a Legacy GT 2008 Spec B. All stock however I want it to sound like a Subaru should.
I'm looking into straight piping it, but I've never done anything of the sorts before. Is it possible to do it at home, or at a mechanic friends garage on his lift?
I know I can pay to have it done, but am keen to work on it myself. But not sure how to go about it or what parts I need...
Cheers!
hi, i just did a muffler delete to my 2006 Legacy GT Wagon yesterday. i wouldnt recommend it as i just wasted $300nzd on making it sound like a honda civic on crack but.... my mistake was, i didnt check how big my exhaust was before i made the procedure. my exhaust is 2.36 inches going into a Y exhaust ends at 4cm in diameter.
LGT Straight pipe/muffler delete?

nah it sounded shit because where the pipe splits into 2 exhausts, the pipe was real small, I recommend going to your local muffler shop and telling them you want to make the subaru rumble sound, they will most likely suggest a whole new system but just tell them you would like to cut off where it splits into 2 exhausts and tell them you would like 2.5 inch pipe out into a muffler on each exhaust.
I did that exact procedure except I did resonators instead of mufflers which gives me alot of drone.
