TwinkE
I've started on my Lidatek install, but this will work for anything that requires a switch. I went to Radio Shack and got a push on-push off switch(275-011A). First, remove the shifter trim and unhook the lighter connector. http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/pushbutton001.jpg Use a 6mm socket to remove the nut from the bottom of the lighter socket. You're left with the white piece and a threaded piece from the inside and a nut and the wires. The lighter socket has a nice hole to run some wires through. http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/pushbutton002.jpg Now to make the switch, cut the head off of the lighter plug. I took off about 3/8". I used one file to open up the hole inside the plug a little bit and used the other to smooth the hole out, it worked pretty well. The switch just screws itself in to the opening. Before - the plug and switch http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/pushbutton003.jpg After - plug assembled http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/pushbutton004.jpg Hope this can help someone. TwinkE
Here's what it looks like installed: http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/pushbutton005.jpg I wanted to use this rocker switch(Radio Shack part: 275-693) but it's the wrong size for the lighter switch. Maybe somewhere else. http://www.twinke.com/Pictures/pushbutton/rockerswitch.jpg

TwinkE
Thanks. Any ideas on where to put the rocker button? I'm going to put the led for my lidatek in the blank between the traction control and the fog light buttons.
Guest
wow ... that really looks great! nice stealth install! I think the V1 remote display could not have been placed worse. It's obviously distracting - forces driver to move his eyes far. I mounted mine on the hump just in front of the gauge cluster. I'll take pic if someone's interested. As for extra buttons, I am gonna reuse the factory VDC and folding button switches (importing JDM switch). I'll hook up the rear fog to one of them when I finally get to installing it. I also want kill switch for V1 and my Blinder - I think I'll put one (push down/up type) under the shifter boot. Will be invisible and easily accessible. A friend had ignition kill switch mounted under the boot - very stealthy!

rtto5588
I think I'm totally missing this? Why would you put this switch/button in? What purpose does it serve? Just curious.
